Meet our Staff Suzanne Carroll began her equestrian career in the walk-trot division in Middleburg, Virginia. After riding hunters through her high school years, her interest in combined training was established while completing a course with Mary Rose, Fellow of the British Horse Society. At 17, Suzanne was awarded instructor’s certification equivalent to the British Horse Society Intermediate Instructor honor. Upon completing her certification, Suzanne invested a year of intense training in Dressage and Combined Training with Major Bela Buttykay at Dresden Farm in Middleburg, Viginia. While working in the Thoroughbred business in Lexington, Kentucky, Suzanne received her Bachelor of Science degree in business from the University of Kentucky. She gained valuable experience at Thoroughbred sales and tracks, namely Keenland and Fasig-Tipon. Suzanne has trained with some of the top competitors and trainers in the U.S., Karen O’Connor and Volker Bromann among others. During her 25+ years of experience Suzanne and her students have won numerous awards on the “A” hunter circuit, dressage and combined training competitions on the east coast, including Horse of the Year award given by the Virginia Commonwealth Combined Training Association. Additionally she was selected for the Adult Team Championships at the USET headquarters in Gladstone, NJ in 1988 and 1989. She is currently versed through Prix St. George dressage and Preliminary eventing and aspires to Grand Prix dressage competition at the international level. Suzanne has widened her knowledge in the veterinary field through working with a variety of veterinarians including acupuncturists and osteopaths. Her knowledge of lameness in equines was strengthened through her employment in Radiology at the Marion du Pont Scott Equine Medical Center, in Leesburg, VA. And in Scintigraphy at the Palm Beach Equine Clinic. Suzanne is currently licensed as a vet assistant with the Texas State Racing Commission. Recently from Wellington, Florida Suzanne is looking forward to teaching and competing in the Texas Dressage, Combined Training and Hunter communities.
